Cotter Builders is a Mackay based construction company that specialises in boutique Renovation's, Extensions and Custom Designed Homes. Our aim is to create homes that inspire a more inviting and relaxed lifestyle here in the tropics, connecting functional and open living spaces with the beauty of the outdoors.

Michael Cotter

Michael is a trade based builder who has been working in the construction industry for over 15 years.

Michael is a trade based builder who has been working in the construction industry for over 15 years. Michael worked as a carpenter for 10 years before obtaining his builders license and later his diploma of building & construction (Building).

Michael provides valuable technical and supervisory support as the company's registered builder.

Michael's passion for perfection, quality craftmanship and design drives each project from concept to completion.

In 2019 Michael was awarded the Master Builders 'Rising Star' Award.

Jess is Cotters Builders interior guru and superstar admin!

Jess, who has a background in teaching, came on board with Cotter Builders in 2024 after embarking on her own new home build journey with Cotter Builders.

Jess is a Style Sourcebook ambassador and owns the instagram Villa Ta Lumi.

A great asset to the team, Jess has a talent for creating warm and inviting spaces suited to the clients wants and needs.

Jess is a mum of two boys who share in her love for theatre and the outdoors.

Tamara is our administration and marketing extraordinaire. Passionate about all things creative.

Tamara is our administration and marketing extraordinaire. Passionate about all things creative, Tamara brings over 15 years experience in administration to the team.

Having lived in London and Brisbane previously Tamara has since set down roots in Mackay with her partner Sean and 1 year old Coen. In 2022 they built their dream home with Cotter Builders.

Madison Cotter

Madison is a registered Building Designer that has been practicing within the design discourse since 2013.

Madison is a registered Building Designer that has been practising within the design discourse since 2013. She completed her Bachelor of Architectural Design at the University of Queensland graduating in 2012 and obtaining her Building Design License in 2016.

Madison is experienced in design of residential new homes, renovations, queenslander renovations and shop fitout design. Her knowledge provides expertise in design and execution of all projects.

In 2017 Madison was awarded the Master Builders 'Women in Construction' Award.

Dave

Dave boasts over 20 years of experience in the Residential Building industry.

Dave joined Cotter Builders in 2024 as our Construction Manager.

He boasts over 20 years of experience in the Residential Building Industry, and we are extremely lucky to have him on board.

Dave is our 'Top Dog' on site and works with our subbies to achieve amazing results for our clients.

Dave works closely alongside Michael to ensure that every project runs smoothly and seamlessly and our clients expectations are exceeded.
